Andrea McKenna participated in the Under the Influence show in Fall 2016 at Village West.

After receiving a BFA from NYC's School of Visual Arts in 1992, Andrea began exhibiting her work around the tri-state area. She has been in many group and solo shows and has been noted and featured in newspaper articles and publications, including the Star Ledger and the Jersey Journal. Recently, she was interviewed by "Beautiful Bizarre Magazine," online edition.

In 1999, she started working as a Decorative Artist for a company in North Jersey and a few years later, formed her own business, Videre Decorative Arts: painted finishes for walls, ceilings and furniture. In 2012, Andrea co created the successful pop up art boutique: "Once Upon a Market," a bi-annual two-day event in Jersey City featuring local artists, and now co-owns and operates The Raven Gallery and Boutique, located in downtown Jersey City, opened in the Spring of 2014.

In 2015, she was asked to design a set for Art House Productions and St. Peter's University in Jersey City and is now working on her fifth set for an up coming immersive play for Art House.

A native of Fort Lee, New Jersey, Andrea moved to Jersey City in 1999, where she currently resides.

"My work merges the figurative with the atmospheric, seeking to invoke a dreamlike quality amidst a textural landscape.
I strive to capture the ephemeral spirits of my imagination that are both tranquil and aggressive while finding the balance between them.
I use layers of various materials and transform my surfaces into fields of contrasting color and emotion.
My mediums are oils or acrylics and I use wood, canvas, paper or burlap as surfaces."
